Odette Ngano Samba
I am a medical physicist at the General Hospital of Yaoundé and senior lecturer at the University of Dschang where I’m teaching level 2, 3 and 5 in radiation Physics.
The primary and secondary school were done in Cameroon. I received my M.Sc. in experimental physics at the Technical University Chemnitz and the Ph.D. degree at the Medical Physics and Biophysics Institute of Berlin (Germany) in year 1999. At year 2005, I also received from the National Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology (INSTN) a certificate of the qualification diploma in radiological and medical physics.
My research interests are currently lying in the areas of diagnostic and radiation oncology (particularly patient’s radiation protection) where I have 05 publications and 03 presentations in internationals conferences.
I’m my country Counter Part in the AFRA Project: “Strengthening Medical Physics in Support of Cancer Management- Phase II” of the IAEA and I’m participating in the national project CMR 2014002: “Improving cancer control and treatment through upgraded radiotherapy and nuclear medicine services in Cameroon”. I’m also FAMPO (Federation of African Medical Physics Organization) treasurer.
