Dear Graduate Students,
It is our pleasure to invite you to the first CEWIS International Symposium in Cologne, to be held on Thursday, July 18th and Friday, July 19th 2013.

The mission of CEWIS is to spotlight extraordinary women in biological sciences. CEWIS also aims to demonstrate how exciting and rewarding a career in biological sciences can be and to encourage young researchers to pursue such a career for themselves.

We are proud to announce that the Symposium will feature talks by outstanding female scientists from all over the world, including Christiane Nüsslein-Volhard (Nobel Prize 1995) and Ulla Bonas (Leibniz Prize 2011).

In addition, we encourage both male and female graduate students, should they wish, to present their own work. Presentations may be made orally, by poster or by a combination of the two and there will be prizes for the best. Please could anyone wishing to present send an abstract to us by 31st May 2013.

Registration is free of charge at our website (http://cewis2013.uni-koeln.de) where further information and guidelines for participation can be found. News of the upcoming event will also be posted there.
